"Milk isn't that bad, Nana!"
Jack fell for the lupine super hard. Something that caught him off guard after his first impression was the fear she was gonna eat him. Now he lowkey hopes she does. He's not entirely aware of the effects he's had on her life. All he knows is that he wants to keep her happy and smiling because that's when she looks the prettiest.
Ironically, he's also unaware that she's been doing that a lot more after he came stumbling into her life.
"You'd be the perfect guy if you didn't like milk so much."
Nana loves her goofball of a boyfriend and is thankful to have accidentally ran into him in the forest that one day. She does wish he was a bit-scratch that-a LOT more careful. Thankfully, she's such a powerhouse, she manages to save him from most of the situations he finds himself in.
Little does he know, he's actually helped her redevelop her trust in others and leave her comfort zone.
"Is respect a foreign language for you?"
With Pinokuni being Jack's first best friend, it was a bit of an awkward and rocky start between them initially. After warming up to each other enough, the farmboy has come to respect some of Pinokuni's straight forwardness and is thankful they're still together.
Some of the puppet has been rubbing off on Jack as he's been picking up how to stand up for himself and be more blunt. Now to hope the farmboy doesn't pick up Pinokuni's sailor mouth as well.
'I'll stop calling you 'Jackass' when you stop acting like one."
Initially, Pinokuni was cautious about starting up another friendship with another human. But after piecing together Jack being a clumsy farmboy with the occasional emotional outburst, the puppet decided to give having a friend another try.
Jack is surprisingly a good teacher for being a better person, aiding Pinokuni in righting his past wrongs and figuring out what it takes to truly be human.
"Kai, please. I can't wear all the flower crowns on my head."
Jack feels very comfortable around Kai as both enjoy dabbling in things some see as "feminine". They are also crying buddies and if one cries, the other most likely will.
"Don't worry, this is the last one." He says the 40th time.
Kai enjoys Jack's company, relating to wanting to helpful...and sometimes screwing it up. Occasionally teaches Jack how to make little flower crowns in the spare time they have between dealing with inklings and big bads.
"S-sorry m'am."
Jack respects the witch a great amount and always feels bad for having to be sent in for patch ups.
"Congratulations Jack, this is your fifth visit to the infirmary this month."
Having known his father, Miss Castor is already used to Jack's personality. That doesn't mean she won't scold him when he keeps putting himself in danger.
A part of her wants to tell him more about his father but she knows it's not her place and simply allows him to run around in bliss as he tries to help save the world.
"Ashe, we need to talk about your addiction to fire."
Jack used to be nervous around the flames Ashe would send out but after awhile, he's become rather used to it. Almost in the most concerning of ways.
"What was that-I can't hear you OVER THE SOUND OF MORE FIYAH!"
Can relate to feeling of having a famous parent that you didn't even know was famous until their passing. Due to their weapons of choice being on long sticks, Ashe helps Jack with figuring out how to twirl that big ole axe of his around.
"I think I'm starting to figure this magical weapon stuff out!"
Jack is always impressed with Xia's skills in battle and handling themselves. It's not too far to say he idolizes them, especially after finding out they initially weren't even a fairytale.
"Hey! You nearly got the hang of it! Keep it up and you'll be able to hack a boulder in half!"
Xia does their best to keep Jack safe while also teaching him how to properly use his marchen. When they aren't focusing on training, Xia also helps Jack to better feel comfortable with himself, supporting his interests in dresses and make-up.
Gender is just a performance in their eyes.
