Backstory

Origins: [ Anima Technologies - Lepidoptera Branch - No. 455 | AT-[L].455 | Codename: Lass ]

Anima Technologies was a relatively secretive organization. Its foundation built around the desire of pushing the human body's evolution to its limits through the use of combing Human DNA and Animal DNA through advanced DNA manipulation.

Subject  [L].455 was a part of the 4th batch of Moth-Human Hybrids in an attempt to create the perfect Moth Girl. In her case, she's the combined result of infusing Human DNA with that of the Atlas Moth. Compared to her peers, Lass was the first of them to exhibit her Moth traits, showcasing her antenna and compound eyes within 3 months in her gestation period compared to the standard expectation which is twice as long. These developed traits, and her rather amusing name, garnered the attention and favor of the scientists that worked here as well as the head of the project, leading to her codename: Lass.

Aside from the monthly check-ups and experimentation periods that she hates, Lass grew up in relative comfort. She was able to befriend as her surviving 'siblings', who are all identical to her in all but name and moth-like traits, and was often looked up upon by them for her rapid growth. She would often go on adventures with them to explore around the confines of the building and get into trouble as a result of their curiosity getting the better of them.

But, as they get older, the scientists grew worried. Despite Lass's initial growth, her weakness lies in her wings. Expectations of her having large wings was hampered as further results showcases that Lass's body was simple not built to handle them, lacking in the blood needed to expand her wings and the muscle power to move them. On the day of inspection, as the results of the experiments are revealed, Lass was deemed a failure for being unable to meet their expectations and was passed over to her 'siblings' who fared no better.

The scientists were undoubtedly disappointed, some more vocal about it than others. The Head, in particular, was furious at the results and, in drunken stupor, gave a nasty rant about everyone that was involved in the project. When it came to the subjects themselves, Lass took the brunt of the lashing and she get berated and demeaned for being a failure and not the 'perfect success story'. These recent events shook up the moth girl so badly, she shut herself out from everyone.

With the Lepidoptera Branch's lack of success, the Moth Girl Project was to be shut down; the staff to be fired or transferred to another branch. Normally, the subjects are to be put down to avoid exposure of their secret operations but an unknown benefactor was able to convince them otherwise. Instead, Lass and her 'siblings' are to be separated and try to integrate themselves into human society under the watchful eye and guidance of their caretakers.

Lore bits
- Introvert with a Kuudere personality but is easy to fluster
- Her eyes lack any pupils due to being naturally-formed compound eyes. She has to wear specialized contact lenses to create fake pupils to avoid more attention.
- Her antenna would react depending on her mood from slight twitching to rapid flapping.
- Has a bit of a sweet tooth. Pretty susceptible to bribery with sweets and baked treats.
- In a relationship with a Lamp Robot Girl named Elly-D
- Much like how bright lights confused moths, Lass would essentially become entranced by the bright light, fully focused onto the source and becomes unresponsive to   anything else. Lass doesn't seem to recall anything when snapped out of this tranced state.
             - Because of this, Lass is actually terrified of bright lights, especially in dimly-lit areas. Although being with her GF has helped her.
             - To combat this, Lass would always bring her specialized sunglasses to neutralize the effectiveness of bright lights.
- As a Moth Girl, Lass is partially nocturnal and would stay up pretty late yet wake up pretty early with 6hrs of sleep or less. Because of this, she tends to get sleepy             mid-afternoon and, assuming she's not out with friends/dates, take long naps ranging from 20 mins to over an hour.
- Due to a genetic defect, Lass's wings were never able to fully develop. Since her body also lacks the blood needed to expand them, her wings will remain in their small     and crumped state. Lass finds them to be her biggest shame and would do anything to avoid revealing them to anyone. As of right now, only her caretaker has seen       her wings.
