I LOVE HER ENOUGH THAT SHE GETS HER OWN PAGE, NOW.....

XIV made her better than I ever could have so that's fucked up

A viera from the Skatay range, like all other Veena. She was a hunter  who helped teach the young ones the ropes, but never had any children  of her own. She set off to Dalmasca after a few years where she met a  ravaa woman working there named Moira. Moira quickly enchanted her and  convinced her to keep travelling with her. They wandered all over the  world until they made themselves comfortable in Eorzia. The two fell in  love easily and Moira helped Halia to get out of her shell and  experience more.
They were engaged to be married when disaster  struck- literally. They were present for the great calamity, and while  Halia survived, Moira was not so fortunate. Having lost the love of her  life Halia grew cold and distant, pushing everyone she knew away until  she was completely alone.

When the Scions found her, they had to  drag her to do things. She was cold and determined not to get attached  to any of them since she planned to leave as soon as her job was done.  Over time she did get attached, despite her best efforts. As the story  has gone on and she's met more people who've become dear to her, her  fear grows that she'll lose them. She's already lost so many... Of all  the scions, she's especially fond of Alphinaud and Alisaie, and takes on  a very motherly role with the two of them. Her hoard of children to  mother grows when she meets Ryne, who she takes special care of since  she thinks the young woman has a lot of being loved to get caught up  on.

As the moves through Eorzia once more she's  plagued by the painful memories of her times with Moira, but finds  solace in her new mission and the new people near to her. She often  finds herself surprised at how much love she has in her heart for those  around her, and how much love she receives in return. It's helped her to  come to terms with her loss, but she knows the pain will never fully go  away. She would go to the ends of the world and back for her newfound  family and has gotten through every struggle for this reason. Though she  may be weary, there are people too dear to let fall.
