Kohaku

kohaku grew up in a very poor and isolated family, one that was rather overly protective and strict and basically raised them to be afraid of everything. it was to the point of their paranoia and anxiety becoming so bad they were afraid to be alone, but also afraid to be around people they didn't know. sometimes even afraid to be around their own family in fear of making a small mistake and being punished for it. they ended up developing extremely bad insomnia, but they didn't care much because even at times they were afraid to simply sleep. they grew up like that, their mental state only worsening as time went on - though they couldn't exactly avoid leaving their own home when of age to be given the chance to. they may have feared everything basically,, but that included staying there. they didn't find themselves accomplishing much though, they were basically broke and had no where to go, so they lived basically on the streets. perhaps it was the way they were raised combined with their never ending fear, but they actually got pretty good at fighting off others and making them stay away from them. maybe it was that hidden strength that caused them to be turned into a demon, but that time was very heavily a blur to them so they didn't even remember encountering a demon. did end up actively helping muzan for a bit until they realized their own strength and that they could really do whatever they pleased (& if they stuck with him their life would be very similar to when they were human) - which ended up being just not caring and relaxing, unlike how they lived their life.

Personality

kohaku has a very catlike type personality. they're rather lazy and relaxed, and would much rather take naps than get involved in whatever the hell muzan is doing. actually would be pretty powerful if they ever had a reason to put forth effort, but they just don't care most of the time. of course, they will if they have to, but they'd rather not. rather chaotic though when they want to be, and enjoys causing small problems like playing dumb little pranks on others. despite how much they want it to be past them, sometimes their personality from as a human slips through, and they become very anxious at the simplest of things until they are able to compose themselves or someone is next to them to help them through it. in general they tend to be rather emotional, which probably adds to why they don't like getting involved in things. has a bit of temper when they're impatient or bothered by someone they're not fond of - but also easily excitable when it's something or someone they like.
