Eglantine is the treatling embodiment of bad luck - broken windows, stubbed toes, fallen pianos; all these are par for the course where Eglantine is concerned. His dream is the ideal of comical bad luck, the kind you might find in comedies or cartoons. It never brings him any harm, but can absolutely cause problems otherwise - something that is quite unfortunate for someone who paints china for a living.

Despite his ever pervasive bad luck, Eglantine is a rather polite young man who tries to be kind to others, and his manner of speaking is rather refined. He doesn't like to swear, and generally censors himself. His demeanor is often quite tired, with heavy eye bags and bad posture.
