Charcoal

My tinkerer/creator!  Charcoal's a short kobold hybrid, sweet and smart but a bit overly ambitious and reckless at times.

Due to a slight mishap (explosion) with some arcane crystals one day, he's stuck in something of a Jekyll/Hyde situation. 
His system accrues magical energy that he's exposed to, even the minor background energies of the atmosphere.  When 
he's exposed to too much, his body becomes unstable, and reacts by transforming into a larger, more monstrous form.

Exposure to potions, magical gems, and arcane artifacts will speed up this cycle.  But, Charcoal has also found ways to safely discharge 
this energy, and has even managed to harness it to power some of his gear and inventions.  (This actually led to the creation of his most 
prized creation, his wings; without the arcane power he provides, they wouldn't be powerful enough to actually fly with.)
