The Crystallizer.
Shaylon was born in a family of soul slayers, but bearing an unique power: cristallization of soul. It goes two ways, he's able to either fully crystallize a soul, making a sort of eternal statue out of it, or purifying the soul into the "crystal clear" state.

Due to this, he was kidnapped when young by a woman who was obsessed with her children being always innocent and pure, and who couldn't bear the weight of loss; any person dear to her who died, she made sure that Shaylon would crystallize their soul at the moment of death, so that she could keep at least their image forever, and occasionally communicate with them though another kidnapped kid, the Synchronizer (Alba). This habit degenerated into killing and keeping any person she wanted to keep close, but who didn't reciprocate her feelings, causing the woman's madness.

One day, a group of mysterious people barged in the mansion with the intent of taking Alba away; Shaylon couldn't do anything to help, but in the chaos that ensued he managed to escape. Not wanting to go back to his family, their lifestyle of slayers far different from his ideals, he started a solo journey trying to understand what to do with his young life. One the way, he met Sol first, and then Venice, who ironically is Alba's twin sister. Apparentely Alba bears a secret the government itself is interested in, so the little group started their quest to find the girl.

(Story is still a big WIP and will most likely change it, especially their motives and final goals, and the way the plot goes ---it shouldn't be this Alba-centric lmao)
