She was so enchanted by this 'rebel pearl' she was such a pearl that was quite intimidated by the system, by higher gems, by not 'measuring up' not being a proper 'gem' in the eyes of others

but this pearl....standing in front of this Rose quartz, fighting all these soldiers and winning. It inspired her. 

She ran away trying to join the rebels, trying to be on par with this rebel. 

Fun fact: she can have an intense jealous streak run deep in her when challenged or feeling challenged, she will put her all into trying to get back and prove her worth
