Optimistic, cheerful, dense, caring, naïve, gullible and childish, Deck tries to be friends with everything and everyone. He’d befriend a car if he could. He doesn’t understand negativity or ‘emotions’ – only programmed to think optimistically, even when setting fire to things. He trusts everyone and does everything he’s told.

As a PAL Unit, Deck’s in-built functions allow him to perform tasks on command (screaming activates his attack/flamethrower function, and certain keywords such as ‘protect’ can be used as direct commands, but most are number-codes). He has holes in the palms of his hands, which work as flamethrowers and tasers.

Deck is one of several PAG units created by Sprocket. Most of them were scrapped or abandoned. Deck was the most successful of the lot.

Deck isn’t allowed to leave the Big Top. (Too many people screaming for a myriad of reasons). He’s accidentally wandered a couple of times, set fire to sections of the carnival, caused chaos, etc. The Ringmaster would fix him (or get Sprocket to), but he’s proud of his little creation. He wouldn’t dare change his tiny robot child.

Although he can’t open his mouth, his ‘teeth’ are slats that can pull back as gaps – he drinks oil through these, so sometimes people feed him candyfloss and sweets through too.
