Karyu can be quite extreme on his feelings. If he likes you, then you have a friend for life, but if he doesn't...
He won't move an inch to save whoever he dislikes, especially if this person have hurt his friends before. He takes "talk shit (about my friends), get hit" way too seriously.

He are also very attached to his hoodie and is hardly seeing without it or with it fully down.
The hoodie acts like the Organization's coat, hiding him from mean people and scaring away weaker Heartless. Karyu often covers his left eye with it, he feels rather uncomfortable when people notice and ask about the golden hue it has. He doesn't know why and whenever he tries to remember he feel a terrible chill crawling up his back, so he rather hide it away.

How it started...

He's originally from Land of Devils, an original, yet unstable world. And due to this instability he is thrown away, being found by Ansem the Wise in Radiant Garden.

Ansem could soon tell that he wasn't from Radiant Garden, much less like any other from there. Due to his nature and the possible ability to travel between worlds, Karyu was taken as a subject for his hearts' study. Later on meeting others like Lea, Isa, Kairi, Ienzo...Xehanort.

The experiments failed and with it came the Heartless and the destruction of Radiant Garden. Karyu, one more time, see himself on an unknown place, Traverse Town. With the old memories locked deeper inside his heart, Karyu finally finds, with Leon and the gang, a family and a place to settle for a while.

Not much later the Heartless arrive at Traverse Town as well. With a strong desire to protect what he finally conquered, Karyu discover being able to wield the Keyblade and with it comes his mission.

Off he goes...

Now with the power of the Keyblade he rediscovers the ability of open dark corridors and, with it, the power to travel between worlds. His weapon revives his connection with his original world, leading him to it one more time. As he walks around the place, a few flashes of memories would come back to him, piece by piece. Still, there were some he'd rather keep locked in his heart.

Once locking this world, safe from the Heartless, he moves back to Traverse Town. The way back wasn't as easy and he learnt that dark corridors can be swarmed by many, MANY Heartless. This was when he come up with the idea to blend in. Of course Aerith and Cid hated the idea, but the others understood that it had to be done in order to save other worlds, so they don't end up like their home place.

He stays a longer time on Traverse Town this time, gathering materials for his new clothes and preparing to jump to another world. Organizing his memories and feelings as well, while it all sounds thrilling and exciting, he couldn't help the crawling fears and anxiety. Besides, there's so much to be done back in the down, there are the refugees, Heartless attacking the second district; why should him leave?

Still in his internal journey, he bumps with someone, but before he could stand and apologize he feels an unusual discomfort. In front of him was an young boy, silver hair and sharp eyes. He looks down on him and, with a huff, he moves on. Karyu was sure he never saw that kid before, but those eyes...there's something really off about them. Something that made him shiver in a mix of stress and fear, he couldn't really know why...

Much later the same week, he had yet another encounter, Leon brings a kid home, this time with a much friendly boy, who present himself as 'Sora'. He quickly become very friendly toward Karyu and he makes it reciprocated. The boy was much younger, but already talk big, explaning his mission to find his lost friends and get back to his home world. Karyu was amazed by his determination, both were wielder, but this young boy in front of him had so much more strength.

"I hope you can find your friends." Karyu says with a soft smile.
"And I hope you find your belonging place!" Sora would reply with a bright beam.

Sora didn't stay long on Traverse Town, soon leaving with his companion on his great mission. However he left quite the impression on Karyu, inspired by his power and determination, he was now decided to help others and find his purpose.

Finding a place...

His journey keep throwing him everywhere. Different worlds, weird places, meeting ALL kind of people, seeing old friends again!
It wasn't hard to bump into Sora, and the two of them would help one another to get out danger and tight situations. After battle, the two would catch up, checking if any have already archieve their goal, just to be followed by a disappointed sigh; none of them did yet. Although he keeps saying that he found this Riku-guy and that he feels Kairi is closer than ever. For some reason her name always sparkles something inside of Karyu, but he can never picks why, like many other things that are a mystery to him.

Time passed, bump into him was rarer now, and Karyu could only hope Sora was alright. As the worlds, one by one, start getting saver Leon and the crew announce that they are, finally, able to return to their homeworld. Karyu was so excited for them! Happy to live in a proper world with them all. However...
Hollow Bastion wasn't what he expected. Despite the poor state of the world, there was something between those walls that made Karyu so uncomfortable that he could hardly sleep at night. Cid and Aerith could tell, even with his attempts to hide behind a smile. The two knew he wasn't happy there.

Still, somehow, he swallowed all that fear and tried to live in Hollow Bastion with his family. Easier said than done. Bad nights, flashes of memories and, to make things even worse, some weird guys in black coats start appearing, swarms and swarms of Heartless as well; it was like live in a constant nightmare. He opens up to their crew and after a short farewell, he move to another world again.

The fact that he couldn't find a place to belong was troubling him so very hard; it was painful! Travel between worlds was getting tiresome and stressful, until he arrives on an unknown place. The city was calm, there were no Heartless, no bad feelings ripping his heart apart, only the warm sun touching his skin and a vast sunset colored sky above his head. He didn't expect to find such a pretty place in the middle of such a chaotic mess that the other worlds were.

Twilight Town...could it be the place?
He couldn't help this thought. He wanted it to be! He sets there, finding a place to stay. Of course he'd still visit and help other people and worlds, but now with a place he felt like belonging to return.

• Karyu doesn't like the golden hue on their left eye, covering it most of the time.
• His favorite strategy in combat is take the enemies to the air and strike with thunder!
• Even after meeting old friends, most of his memories stayed locked. It only changes when he had to face Xehanort again.
• After KH3 main events he sets to live in Twilight Town, visiting Destiny Island, with Roxas and Xion, and writing letter to Leon and the others back in Radiant Garden.
