Fake Buns are a parasitic alien species that take over planets by crossbreeding with it's original inhabitants. 

They adapt their dental structure and diet to fit the planet's food source, their anatomical structure also tends to adapt to their current living conditions. ( and their way of reproducing )

Their motive? Creating a massive army out of a strong hybrid alien offspring to serve their queens.

They work like a hive mind and usually have very little thought of their own unless they have a special function. (Lower offspring that DOES think for themselves are usually cut off from the hive, because they are flawed) They are usually born sexless and adapt upon mingling. Some, however, are born female and either get raised as queens or guards of a higher order. Their anatomy is more insect like than their sexless counterparts, more durable as well.

The extra eyes of the Fake Buns have a hypnotizing factor to make breeding easier. Their reason for breeding with different species is because they themselves, besides being so adaptable are a rather weak race and can't really defend themselves. (there are exceptions but those are just happy accidents) So it's a way to survive in a way. Hybrids can't breed however….

They don't have their own planet, maybe once, long ago they did, but they were chased away by a stronger alien race. Currently they reside in a makeshift “hive” made out of space debris, controlled by their queens.

Fake Buns are not born with names, but a number. Free thinkers/outcasts usually name themselves and develop their own identity and personality.
