While being a protector, one that is easily  made aloof, weary and suspicious of others at first meeting. Gaining of their truest Isn't easy for this reason, although once gained loyal till death. However he won't place you in any special position i which you'll be treated any different then anyone else. Far from being someone whose shy to say the truth, flat out with any sugary coating as he doesn't see any benefit to tip-toeing carefully in conversations. Only occasionally to applies when they're acting as a diplomatic  between fighting individuals.It doesn't matter what it is, what's his is his and, he'll fight to the death unless surrender is declared or agreement of decision is quickly reached. That said Tapio is quite fatherly and protective whenever he sees many young(er) people that'll he come to love as his children,  will do whatever it takes to ensure they remain safe and happy. Despite behaving as a grump-isn grandfather

When the Earth was first created everything was peaceful and in harmony. Both animals and humans lived together as one, helping one another out and caring for the land around them; never taking more than one needed to live. But ? was getting restless, it had been hiding away for ages from ? since their last battle. Waiting for the right moment to make a move. And it came... 

A group of humans, straying further away from their tribe than they usually did. with out hesitation, it reached out to them, touching them with its power now slowly corrupting them. They became greedy, violent and cruel. taking more and killing more than they should. They no longer did just kill animals they also lashed out at other humans with greed and envy. Mother Earth, Gia, watched at first with deep sorrow for these were still her children now hurting their own siblings and kind. She could no longer let them continue their violent rampage. A lone traveler, wondering along out on a hillside. Clearly traveling on it own. Mother Earth's eye, slowly reaching out she gently touched it. The lone individual  let out a yelp, from shock, at being touched by such a strong power but slowly their fear lessened sensing that this was Gaia, Mother Earth now holding him in the palm of her hands. She told him with much sorrow of the horrors going on and that she needed someone to put an end to it and guard the lands of the remaining animals and people free of corruption.

 Knowing it wasn't going to be an easy job, Tapio accepted. Gaia blessed him  with their powers. The once a meek canine now a powerful Spirit Guardian of light and life. With no hesitation, he hunted down and punished the maddened Humans now known as demons that were causing pain and misery for many lives. Striking them down for their crimes and sins, banishing many to the underworld..
