Intro
A vampire who runs a bookstore. He also collects and sells magical items, and has a special interest in ones that are cursed. Wielding a sword, he occasionally lends his aid as a demon hunter.
Personality
Aris is generally laid back and easy-going. Though their calm demeanor is appreciated by others, they tend to be rather withdrawn and keep to themself.
The local community doesn't know that much about them, and their vampire nature is a secret. However, they are respected both for their business and their role in keeping the town safe. He is thought of as a nice person, but mysterious and perhaps a little odd.
Aris is autistic. Their somewhat unsociable nature is partly due to this, and they struggle to connect on a deeper level with others, combined with their secret. They enjoy the quiet routine of running their small bookstore. Their hobby of collecting cursed objects is a special interest.
They are almost always cool and collected while fighting. They fight with precision and experience more than instinct.
Equipment
Though Aris doesn't necessarily need to use weapons thanks to his strength, his weapon of choice is a sword he picked up a long time ago. It has no particularly special properties, but he's attached to it and enjoys swordsmanship.

Strengths
Aris has inherent vampire abilities; enhanced strength, speed, senses and healing, as well as being unaging.
He is honourable and loyal to the very few people he is close to - and those who are aware of his nature. He greatly cares for them and is especially grateful they accept him.
Aris isn't a genius, but with his life experience and what he's absorbed from books, he has a range of knowledge. He has a tendency to intently focus on specific things at a time.
Weaknesses
Aris can go out in the sun but he has uncomfortable sensory issues with it. It's particularly hard on his eyes. He can fight in a pinch but it's overall an unpleasant and overwhelming experience. Therefore he prefers to shut himself in his store during sunny days.
He has very little innate magical ability, only being able to cast basic, weak spells. Not at all suitable for battle. He finds magic and magical theories interesting despite this.
Story
Aris is a resident of Haythorne; an average-sized bustling town. Unfortunately, the surrounding area is plagued by demonic and monster activity. Although the town is guarded, things can slip through.
Aris runs a small bookstore in town. Despite not being a mage himself, part of the store is catered to mages. Aris collects and sells unwanted magical items. He has a special interest in cursed objects. Due to the nature of the magic behind curses, they can only affect living beings and therefore have no effect on Aris. He just thinks they're neat, much to the confusion of others.
Aris is a human turned vampire. He has no memory of the incident and believes he was turned by accident, but he can't be sure. In recent years he has mostly accepted his nature, taking a laid back approach to not to dwell on the past, and his past actions after turning...
As well as his aforementioned vampire abilities and sensitivity to the sun, Aris is unable to sleep. It's one of the things he misses, and he tries to clear his mind and meditate as a substitute. Other than that, he often fills his night time with books and sometimes demon hunting. And of course, feeding off someone when he has to.
People assume he is an elf or has elven blood due to his ear shape, which suits him fine. His two close friends Caius and Neve are the only people in town who know his secret. Caius found out during an emergency in which Aris needed his blood, and Neve... was confided in in a much more normal manner after the fact.
Mostly, Aris simply tries to live a normal life and enjoys running his store. He has fun fighting alongside Caius on occasion.
Caius
Friend
A close friend, sometimes with benefits. Caius is one of very few people to know of Aris' vampire nature, and Aris knows Caius' secrets in return. They are supportive of each other's strange interests. Caius is their "willing blood donor", in his words.
Neve
Friend
A close friend, also aware of their vampire nature. They both enjoy each others' company and often end up having long conversations about whatever they've been reading about. Neve jokes that they're somehow more normal than Caius despite everything.
