Name Rabbitheart

Former Names  Rabbitkit, Rabbitpaw

Gender Intersex Female (She/Her)

Orientation Pansexual

Apprentice None

Rank Permanent Queen

Residence MoorClan

APPEARANCE

A pale brown she-cat with an unusually fluffy cream chest. Her paws are small and delicate, freckles dotting her legs, flanks, chest, and cheeks. She has downy soft fur and a thick, rudder-like tail that probably would have been a great aid to swim with, had she been taught. She has a heart-like marking on her chest. Her eyes are large and doe-like, and are a pale blue in color. She's on the chubbier side; everything about Rabbitheart is soft and round.

Design notes
  • Has a heart-like marking on her chest
  • Her fur is average length, save for the fringe on her head and her neck/chest area
  • Feel free to exaggerate the fluffiness of her neck and chest!
  • Her fur is always neat and tidy, and should not stick up every which way
  • She has a tiny nose!
Personality

+Gentle+
A sweet, placid cat, her gentle nature is what placed her as a perm-queen in the first place

+Adaptable+
Rabbitheart is very go with the flow, at least on the surface. There’s not a lot that can make her genuinely panic

+Empathetic+
It’s very easy for her to see another’s point of view, and always takes that into consideration

Cautious
She is never one to rush into anything, trying to analyze all possible dangers before making a decision

Agreeable
She seems to be a bit of a ‘yes cat;’ some find this makes her a pleasant cat to be around, while others are annoyed that she seems to have no opinions of her own

-Subdued-
Rabbitheart always seems to be holding back something, and does her best not to draw too much attention to herself

-Distracted-
Rabbitheart can often be seen looking out into camp wistfully, as if she’s upst to be missing something

-No Backbone-
Rabbitheart is quick to back down from anything (or anyone) she finds intimidating

History

{Kithood}
Rabbitheart was born an adupted child to Softwillow and Dustpelt following a miscarriage. She was a tiny, frail looking thing that had her parents worried for her survival after a loner changed across Softwillow at the border. As such, the two of them were extremely protective of her (Softwillow especially). She wasn’t allowed to play rough with the other kits, in case they got hurt- couldn’t stray too far from the nursery, in case a hawk got her, or worse. She didn’t have many friends, and the few she did have were always restricted to certain activities. One kit in particular, Quickkit, was the bane of her parent’s existence: they’d try to dissuade Rabbitkit from being friends with them, saying they were a “bad influence,” but it never seemed to work.

Her parent’s over-protectiveness doubled down when she snuck out of the nursery once; she’d gotten as far as seeing an inkling of the river that runs through the territory before her father got a hold of her. Nothing had happened to her, thankfully, but it could have, and that was enough for her to never leave their sight until apprenticeship.

Despite having no skills in fighting or endurance, she hoped beyond all hopes that Ruststar would make her a Scout, or even a hunter or guard. He always took a cat’s interests into account, right? Surely he’d overlook her parents pushing for her to be a crafter or a perm-queen……. right?

{Apprenticeship}
Rabbitpaw’s hopes were dashed the moment she became an apprentice. Ruststar appointed her to a sweet, well-meaning she-cat named Snowflower. She was crushed; surely she would never see outside of camp, not in the same way the rest of her Clanmates do.

She was dutiful with her apprenticeship duties, as dejected as she was. Her calming nature made her a good fit for a perm-queen, and she made good progress in her training. Snowflower always had other warriors go and fetch any moss or other materials; there was never much reason to leave camp.

That is, until Quickpaw convinced her to sneak out. Their goal was the abandoned farm. Rabbitpaw was amazed by the lush grass, the sights, the smells, everything; until a loose dog came into view. Seeing the two apprentices, it got excited and gave chase, eventually catching Quickpaw in its jaws. Rabbitpaw, having never swiped a paw at anything larger than a bug, froze on the spot as she heard the screams of her friend; all she could do was wail.

What had intended to be a cry for help instead emerged as a mighty roar: causing the dog to drop Quickpaw and run away. Softwillow had approached just in time to see it happen. She hurried the two of them home, both supporting Quickpaw. Quickpaw was rushed to the medicine den, and the moment Softwillow saw that Rabbitpaw was alright, she made her daughter swear that she wouldn’t speak a word of this to anyone. Not the shout, not what happened, nothing. If anyone asks, her mother chased off the dog. No one was to know she had this roar within her.

{Warriorhood}
The dog attack, while a horrific scar on Rabbitpaw’s mind, was what promoted her to her name. Softwillow had told Ruststar how courageous her daughter was in the moment, but how she ultimately drove the dog off. As such, Rabbitheart was given her warrior name for her caring nature and her bravery. She said not a word during the whole ceremony: not to Ruststar, not to Snowflower, and certainly not to her mother.

She wishes she could just forget the whole thing ever happened. Instead, her nights are plagued with nightmares of the event, and she's been terrified to see Quick, afraid that they might hate her after all that happened.

Trivia

  • NOMENCLATURE
  • Rabbit — for her soft, brown fur
  • Heart — for her suprising courage (ha!) during the dog attack
  • StarClan and the Dark Forest are very absolute for her; StarClan is ALWAYS good, Dark Forest is ALWAYS bad
  • Her mother's influence has made her terrified to leave camp
  • Notorious for getting 'nice crushes;' if any cat is nice to her, especially a masculine cat, she's smitten
Relationships

Mother

Softwillow was downright stifling in her protection of her daughter. Rabbitheart’s lack of fighting expertise or stamina can be directly contributed to her parenting. Rabbitheart is soft and eager to please not because of her true nature, but because it was all she was allowed to be. Although Rabbitheart loves her mother, there’s a lot of untapped resentment there for everything she lost because of this.

Father

The tom was overly protective of her from day one, and often went out on extra hunting patrols in order to make sure Softwillow and her were well-fed. He always cautioned her about the various predators on the outskirts of Hawthorn, giving her a fear of leaving the territory. Rabbit loves her father, but wishes he had given her more freedom.

(Ex?) Best Friend

Her closest friend before the accident. Quickpaw was constantly referred to by Softwillow as a bad influence on Rabbitheart, but she loved their unabashed nature to be themself. She hasn’t seen them since Softwillow dropped them off at the medicine den: she’s terrified that Quickpaw hates her for what happened to them.

Mate

Possibly one of the nicest cat's Rabbit's ever met. He gifted her the trinkets she wears, and loves spending time with him; though she doesn't understand why he wants to spend time with her. She's terrified of how much she feels for him, but is excited to be in a relationship, as well.
