Profile

Clan matriarch and mate of Sara. Janus spent much of her  youth wandering between clans. She never wanted anything more than to be  an alchemist and was excited when an old dragon offered to apprentice  her. Sadly, Janus soon learned that her master was more interested in  having someone to run errands than an apprentice. Still, with nowhere  else to go she proceeded to work for her so-called master, mostly  running messages and sneaking what little she could learn from his  books.

One of her common messenger routes took her past the lair of Sara. His  loneliness was apparent and out of curiosity Janus began talking with  him whenever she was around. Their conversations became deeper and more  personal over time, and Janus often vented to Sara her frustration at  being unable to learn alchemy as she should. Even teaching herself from  books was getting her farther than her master. Upon hearing this, Sara  retreated into his lair and searched among his hoard until he'd brought  out anything related to alchemy. He gave these things to her happily,  and Janus realized she'd much rather stay with Sara then go back to her  master. She moved into his lair and the two have since had five  children.

Despite her grumbling about Sara's habit of bringing home lost dragons  and hatchlings, Janus enjoys teaching those interested in magic and  alchemy. She is so far the only one in the lair with the Water Flight  skill of prophecy, though it rarely manifests.
