GOF started his life as a faint spark in the remnants of a housefire. no memory of anything before, no idea what was really going on, but just as he was nearly extinguished, something walking by made an offhanded comment out loud about the final ember, and he sprung to a flame! after following this something, GOF realized that he was fueled by positive emotion, mostly boosts to his own ego. GOF decided that the one he had been following, a shapeshifter named else, would be the one to keep his flame alive! something else isnt too thrilled about. GOF has a vague awareness, just from the fact that he was found in the ashes of a house and the fact that his main form contains a human silhouette, that he was probably a person at some point, but he knows if he remembers anything about it he will be sad, so he tries not to unlock any hidden memories.
LOUD! VERY LOUD! GUY ON FIRE IS VERY LOUD! both figurativly and litterally. everything he does is in all caps! the polar opposite of the one he usually hangs out with, GOF is outgoing and eager to do nearly anything. he really likes pestering, and tends to talk the ear of anyone near him, which is usually else, who usually just pretends GOF isnt there most of the time. GOF is reckless, and does things on impluse, this can lead to him destorying things and generally being a pest, sometimes in a not even fire related way! its unclear whether GOF has a overinflated ego or is horribly self concious, how he comes off really depends on the day, but whats for certain is when he feels down he feels REALLY down.
- things dont catch on fire on contact with him unless he wants them to, but it still hurts to touch him
- his size is tied stricly to his emotions, when doused with water he resembles smoldering wood, getting very smokey and very angry
- although he does tend to get destructive when really hyped up with little regard for safety, any time he has accidentally set a house on fire, he's shruken to nearly gone with guilt (wonder why :/)
- He talks like how characters in old episodes of adventure time talk
- smells like a pleasant campfire :) unless he's smoldering, in which case he smells like very choking smoke
else
GUY ON FIRE considers else to be his best friend! he follows it around for a good while whenever they cross paths, and if GOF needs someone to fuel his fire he goes straight to else so it can make a tired compliment in an attempt to get him to leave. GOF isnt really good at taking hints though, and else isnt good at giving them! so GOF still hangs around them despite how they dislike it.
