He's 14 at the beginning of his story (though he looks a bit older in the ref I have, oops,). By the end of his story he's 18 or 19 and he obviously goes through many changes. I'll make the refs for each age soon, the one I have there is 14-15. I can't reveal all of his story because I and definately going to get to it as soon as I can because I love it and the characters so, yeah, no big spoilers here.

His personality changes drastically over the course of the story, this is just at the beggining.

Joshua is young and naive. All his smarts are street smarts and he has no smarts for acedemics. He likes to do as he pleases. He has and immense love for sharp, shiny things, especially knives, but would never even hurt a fly with one. He just thinks they're pretty and he very much enjoys making small wood carvings with his knives, which he is quite talented at.

Joshua grew up with his single father whom was a demon (which is quite common in their world, the demon part. Demons, angels, shifters, and other things exist alongside humans in one society, though there is much segregation and hate going around,). Joshua never knew who his other parent was. He had always assumed his mother had died somehow or left, but his father would never talk about it. Though his father wasn't abusive, he seemed not to care one bit for Joshua, letting the child roam the forest freely and do what he wished. Joshua enjoyed the freedom but wished his father would take more notice in him.

In his wanderings, Joshua met a shifter named Krys, who was around his age (12 at the time), in a town across the forest. The two became great friends, visiting eachother whenever they could and causing trouble together. After two years, Krys and his older brother disappeared from the town, leaving Joshua confused as to where they had gone. He didn't know Kry's family too well and didn't ask them. He still doesn't know where Krys went. He keeps the thought of Krys maybe being dead a safe distance away from his consiousness.

Joshua yearned for an adventure to give his life meaning after Krys left. He wandered further and further into the forest, scratching himself on brambles and fallen tree branches. One day he met two stranger by the names of Dian and Drew. Dian took quick interest in him and asked who he was. Her face looked bored but intrigued when she first met him, though she clearly had prowess in hiding her emotions. Joshua couldn't tell the emotions of Drew because of the mask hiding his face. After a long conversation, Dian asks him to help them keep something away from a group of adventurers who would be coming sometime in the week. Joshua eagerly accept, his naive mind not thinking to question these people, who they were, what the object was, why him, etc. His brain told him it would be an adventure. He'd be back home at the end of the week. His father wouldn't even notice he was gone.

The story starts on his second night with them in a collection of caves and tunnels, so this is where I stop. For now.
