Astaroth is an incredibly ambitious Sharrier. As Lord of the Underworld, he gets everything he could ever want - or so others think. Despite all of his power and prestige, Astaroth gets easily bored. He treats other beings as pawns, seeing them as insignificant and weak. He is unwaveringly stubborn, and hates being told what to do by anyone - especially those he considers insignificant to him. Astaroth despises rules and has been known to completely disregard rules of all kinds. Astaroth has immense anger issues, and has been known to take out his rage on the souls of the underworld. His anger is the cold, calculative kind - he can hold onto it for centuries. Astaroth is also very intelligent. He uses his smarts to toy with his inferiors, honing his trickery and wit. He absolutely adores manipulation; it's his favourite way to get what he wants. Despite the fact that he is basically a deity, Astaroth has fears just like anyone else. He fears losing his power, he fears being seen as weak, but most of all, he fears intimacy. Astaroth is terrified of anyone getting close to him, because behind his cocky, bold exterior, he is filled with self-loathing.

ψ Powers ψ

Astaroth's self-loathing stems from his power to corrupt the minds of other Sharriers. With a simple thought, he can create illusions of one's worst fears. He can literally drive someone insane. Most serial killers of the Sharrier world were his doing. Astaroth can slip into one's mind and use them as a puppet - as such, he never gets his claws dirty. Astaroth has pyrokinesis; the ability to create and manipulate fire. He is capable of assuming the form of a common Sharrier, and often does this in order to blend in or mess with other Sharriers. His gaze is hypnotic - those looking into his eyes are unable to refuse any request or demand he makes of them.

Although he is often demonised and thought of as 'evil', Astaroth feels guilty when he uses such powers.

On the more benign side, Astaroth can speak with snakes. He is immune to all mind-altering effects. He is immortal; he never visually ages and cannot be killed by normal means.

ψ Likes ψ

Astaroth loves classic rock, particularly songs pertaining to demons or the devil. He also loves classical music, however, particularly violin. Red wine is his drink of choice. He is a big fan of scary stories, both true and concocted. Astaroth enjoys playing games, particularly games involving gambling, manipulation, or heavy competition. However, he will cheat given any opportunity. One of Astaroth's favourite things to do is trick other Sharriers into making deals with him. He will promise them great power or wealth, in exchange for something of great value - such as one's soul. However, Astaroth will often leave a loophole for himself. Though Astaroth dislikes most creatures, he loves snakes and cats.
