anther Lunier
"I bid you the warmest of welcomes to the coldest of deaths."
Anther Lunier (pronounced Awn-Therr Loon-Yay) is a Warrior of Light from the original iteration of the source. Upon reentering the reborn realm of Eorzea after the seventh umbral calamity, his likeness was completely forgotten, his status as Warrior of Light along with it, and he had to start a new life as a seemingly non-existent person. The anguish he felt from not even being recognized by his own family drove him mad, and he quickly went from one of a few Warriors of Light to he who would oppose them, even going as far as siding with the empire to destroy those who took his place in history.
Anther died in Castrum Abania attempting to stop Demira Waveheart from interfering with an imperial cannon.

Personality
PLanned to a fault
For reasons even beyond his current situation, Anther has always hated the interruption or alteration of plans laid out in advance. Changing even one little thing when an event is set can cause an irreparably bad attitude.
sharp dressed man
Anther has always had a taste for well pressed suits and lavish mage robes. You won't catch him dead in anything less than gorgeous, formal attire.
artsy
Anther has seen two iterations of the world and the literature, compositions, and paintings from both have left him feeling moved. We his situation better and his living quarters any more than a Garlean bunker, he would spend irrational amounts of gil on original orchestrion rolls and paintings to liven up his space.
inner peace
Despite his once constant irritation with the world around him, Anther has since come to terms with his new lot in life, and very calmly approaches his encounter with - and mayhap even eventual death by the hands of - the Warrior of Light.
lived long enough
Anther is in possession of a mind both of a hero and a villain, and at any time is capable of reading the NYAH companies moves before they even act on them. He's happy to lend this strategic advantage to the Garlean Empire.

plot
A Waning Hero
Anther returned to Eorzea after the calamity five years prior to the events of ARR with memories of being the Warrior of Light, but upon reuniting with friends and family, nobody seemed to know who he was, nor how important his role once was. This quickly festered into a frustrating confusion that spoiled his judgment for the following years.
A New Man
Before Anther gave up on his role of Hero of Eorzea, he sought the help of an accomplished warrior to help train him in White Magic, an art he once excelled in. He met a woman touted as "The Goddess of Magic" by the people of Kugane, Shishiro Sol Shiro, who was already taking on disciples to help pay the bills of her friends tavern. Considering her situation, she agreed to yet another, and paid special attention to Anther, as her first combat experiences were of a party healer, practicing white magicks just as Anther was. She would often criticize him harder than the other students as part of her special attention, much to his ire, though this was only because of the perceived connection they held as fellow white mages. Anther, however, did not perceive this connection, and left Shishiro's apprenticeship on rather unsavory terms.
A Waxing Villain
While studying under Kugane's "Goddess of Magic", Anther met another special student named Demira Waveheart, who many at the tavern believed to be the Warrior of Light, with several Eikons slain by her blade. Not only was Anther bitter toward his instructor seemingly despising him, but he was even moreso distraught that his once proud title of "Warrior of Light" had been pulled out from under him. He pondered on what this could mean for weeks, at one point even considering taking his own life having nothing left to fight for, but resolved instead to defeat this "new" Warrior of Light to prove his worth and restore his fate. Unfortunately, Demira possessed a familiarity with a blade never before seen to Anther, and was growing more and more powerful under the careful training of Shishiro Sol Shiro.
Anther would leave in the middle of training one day cursing the name of both Shishiro and Demira. Historically, it's unknown what transpired between then and Anthers tenure within the Garlean Empires forces.
Demira Waveheart
[ Rival ]
Believed to be the Warrior of Light, talented with a sword and a learned scholar aside. Anther believes Demira to have stolen his fate and murdered his legacy, and has thus vowed to do the same to her, if not worse.
Shishiro Sol Shiro
[ Former Mentor ]
A powerful force of a woman, Shishiro was the first person Anther trusted upon reentering the realm. Her initially good attitude and apparent appreciation of the arts appealed to him. He soon thereafter took to work under her as a disciple, hoping to rekindle his fighting ability, but tired of her incessant nagging and grating teaching methods. He considers Shishiro his biggest obstacle in achieving his goal of destroying the Warrior of Light, as he never once defeated her even during friendly sparring.
Zenos yae Galvus
[ Current Boss ]
Current Emperor of the Garlean Empire. Zenos does not believe Anther will survive his first true encounter with the Warrior of Light, and simply views him as a buffer between himself and Demira, though eagerly awaits the spectacle nonetheless.
