cupid is a gentle, loving, sociable, and kind shiba, they care for everyone whether it be the cupids, the gods, or the mortals. though, they try not to interact with mortals too much, as it may break the code all cupids must follow. to stay hidden away from mortals, this is why they have certain forms to blend in with them! cupid works hard, even to the point of overworking at times, they love to help everyone even if it might annoy others, they just want to feel worthy, worthy to their co-workers but mostly to the love gods. the most divine beings of all up in the clouds, cupid doesn't get to see that often due to their young age, only rarely through some sort of announcement or major warning.
cupid is also a bit naive, a little to trusting of others, which ends up getting them hurt easily. even being a kind soul, you're the most weakest and easiest to mess with. cupid can also be logical but at most times their emotions take over, making a few bad decisions...
a cupid who works under the love gods, to serve and help out lovers all around. cupid's job is to deliver love letters, shoot out love arrows and protect a few loving souls.
mortals usually deliver their mail in a special box, where it's believed cupids take their love letters and send them off to the ones they have deep feelings for. these love letters must be genuine and true feelings, any cupid can sniff off a letter that has no love or is creepy in nature. those will be scrapped, no person deserves a love that will start off with pain or a one-sided love.
once the letter is delivered, a cupid is assigned to take care of the relationship, keep watch, then bring motion with the hit of a golden love arrow, in special cases like stalkers or harmful people overall, cupids must use an arrow with lead and blunt tip. these arrows with lead causes attraction to be turned into aversion, causing distaste for the person they were once obsessed with. however... not all the time will this be super affective, and cause a more unfortunate turn... a hate so deep even a love arrow can't bring back the love in the mortals heart.
this is why soul caretakers also exist, the kindest of people must handle these sort of souls. moderating and seeing if there is any darkness in ones heart. if any darkness is seen, action must be taken immediately, if no cupid is around to take care of the job. things can go terribly wrong, and the fated life of a soul will darken, fade, and cease to exist. a soul needs at least 1 or multiple cupids managing, usually cycles as taking care of many souls is an exhausting task. a mortals soul must stay healthy, filled with love, and kept a beautiful red color.
the job is pretty nice, love is interesting, and they're happy to help bring two (or many) lovers together. though, there's a side they don't see in the future of lovers, not all love is sweet to the end, love can be painful. cupids bring motion to love when shooting a love arrow, they're supposed to bring people together, form a bond and relationship, but relationships are not all perfect and can turn unhealthy. cupids are told not to bother with mortals, however this pup has different plans. even if it breaks the code, they must help others no matter what they are.
