Tobin grew up in Los Angeles and was an only child. He inherited Bellamy Jewellery from his parents, but at the time it was small and not well known. He made some changes and eventually it became huge in L.A. It became very popluar and he suddenly became highclass very quickly.

He had always been very unlucky in love for many years until his friends set him up on a blind date with Verity at Santa Monica Pier. They hit it off immediately, they dated and eventually married. They had a very happy and loving marrige. She helped him out at the Jewellers until they started having children. They had five.

Tobin made sure his children had everything, made sure they went to good school, and made sure they knew they were loved. He was very close with all of them, especially Emory and Zoe. He had intended for Emory to take over after him, but when she went to work at Riet Grand and ended up marrying Harper, he understood. He gave it to Zoe instead, and his very proud of all his children.

He and Verity are killed in a car crash involving a drunk driver shortly before Des is born.
