Mold

mold is a vessel made of poorly stitched-together leather, filled with dirt and sticks, and piloted by a variety of fungus that has gained some form of 'sentience' through unknown means. the vessel is about four foot in height, and its weight/size varies but is usually fairly chubby. the fur is dyed a pale green color, with subtle fox markings underneath. it has messy, mossy, spore-covered hair, as well as a moderate-length tail of the same texture. it has no visible eyes, even when the hair is not covering the face. it 'sees' with the large spores on the top of the head. there are distinct stitches over its nose, around its neck, and connecting its torso. it falls apart easily, and tends to leave dirt and bugs in its wake.

mold is very happy-go-lucky, and very few things tend to upset them. they seem very 'blissfully unaware', and in fact, usually are! they take most things in stride, always getting back up when they fall down. everyone has a breaking point though, and mold is no exception. if someone is being mistreated, or if they find themselves in a hostile situation, they are sure to put a stop to it with their army of bug friends chasing off the troublemaker.

even with these powerful allies, mold doesn't like to focus on 'trouble' and 'bad things', they'd much rather spend their time on the good things in life. these consist of dancing to good music, watching pirated movies, smoking weed, making art, and spending time with friends, and are some of their favorite passtimes. they could never understand focusing so much on work you forget to play!

mold was created by a "mad wizard" who grew obsessed with fungus. he was so certain he could make fungus "sentient" in a way we understand it, he went grave robbing to prove it. mold was one of his first attempts of any kind, and happened before the wizard really had the courage to actually "grave rob." instead of using a whole body, the wizard used rotten animal leather, dyed the pieces some shade of green, and then sewed them together halfhazardly. the wizard unceremoniously filled this "body" with dirt and sticks to give it some kind of weight, and after making a few adjustments to better sustain the fungus, Mold came to "life"! what resulted was...a sentience of some kind, but one that struggles to communicate and understand things in great detail. the wizard however, took it as a success, and let mold do whatever they pleased with their new-found life, and continued his experiments in earnest.

upon being granted sentience, mold has made friends with far too many bugs, and enemies with far too many overworked employees. they don't mean to cause problems however, they just don't understand a lot of what 'society' stands for, and take whatever they think looks neat. occasionally people see the fact they mean no actual harm, and try to keep them out of trouble, but to no avail. it simply doesn't care!
