Mono Tonnis // male // goat // mid-40s
Tonnis is THE stereotypical depressed middle-age office worker. He’s had to give up every passion he used to have to become a “productive member of society”, and now that he’s being paid well and kept on a long leash he doesn’t know what to do with himself.
He used to be very interested in music, but was forced to sell his instruments along with most of his other possessions to get through a long bout of joblessness. Since then he’s worked for the CEO, who paid just barely enough money for him to survive until he moved up to the top floor. Now he’s scared to pick up an instrument again because it’s been so long he’s not sure if he has any skill left.
The only things that remained of his passion after he sold all the expensive stuff were a few metronomes that were basically worthless. Since then he’s had a growing collection sitting on his desk, which have a lot of meaning to him but most of his coworkers consider an extension of how boring he is.
Tonnis has very low self esteem, and comes off as dull and pessimistic to most people. His ego isn’t helped by the fact that he is now surrounded by people a thousand times more lively and interesting than he is. He’s the only person who’s actually figured out what the CEO is doing by moving everyone up here, and he believes he was meant to be the straight-man counter to everyone else’s wackiness, which makes him feel like shit. The reality is that the CEO wanted to see how an average employee selected at random would respond to the new environment.
