While her test scores and perfect behavioural record should make D4n one of the brightest stars in the Academy, her unusual capacity for emotions has made her the odd one out, considered by her superiors to be too unpredictable for deployment. 

She's had a hopeless celebrity crush on Commander Chrome ever since she first enlisted. Difawn was devastated when her ship went missing and she was declared KIA. She spent every scrap of her spare time scanning for any trace of Chrome. Her well known obsession with the Commander and her unique emotional capabilities resulted in her being chosen as "Emotional Junior Consultant" on Project Valkyrie, to deal with humanity's well known emotional instability. 

She eventually meets the notorious resistance leader X0N and betrays Chrome and Project Valkyrie to join, becoming it's leader when X0N dies. In her last days, before she eventually succumbed to her disease, she gave Chrome her last will - asking to be buried somewhere on her most beloved planet, Earth. "I think at last... I've earnt my rest there." 

When she awoke to find herself drugged with emotional inhibitors, with Chrome and her nemesis preparing her conciousness to be transferred to an immortal android - she was unable to feel the pain of Chrome's betrayal. Later, as an android - she firmly believes Difawn died in the transfer, and herself to be a clone more than anything.
