velvet blossom that blooms in the night
Be beautiful, be graceful; be demure, be delicate -- that was all that was ever asked of her, and she would have been content with living that way -- had her life not been abruptly upended. Yet, perhaps, it was to be a blessing in disguise; liberation, arising from loss. It has a nice ring to it.
