Luminis has a magic power that can be contained and released with the front paw, but the spines on the back are always radiating some amount of the magic force that he can't control. The spines release more and more of the magic force any time Luminis' emotions get strong. The magic itself isn't well understood yet because Luminis still hasn't learned to control it well.
