History
Before Hatching
When Sundew reached adulthood, her journey to find where she “fit” in the world led her outside of the Springsinger’s territory. She travelled around Cyr for some time, visiting regions such as Ironbrook and the Archipelago, where she would then catch a ship heading overseas. Sundew visited Dutoria from there, then went further south to Meros.
While in Meros, she met a travelling Moonviper named Lunares Prima Luce, who had gone to the city to attempt selling some sculptures and trinkets to test the market. He had no true intention of making a business out of his handiwork; like her, he was trying to find his place in the world.
Lunares and Sundew became close friends, and after he offered to take her back to his home in the Land of Rivers, they eventually found that they rather enjoyed making sanctuaries and habitats for pebble haskus using his skills with stone and her gardening knowledge. They started a free-of-charge “business” where anyone could interact with and potentially adopt an “emotional support frog” if they would like.
The two would marry many years down the line, having a single egg that hatched to be Borealis.
Childhood
She considered herself very lucky to have parents that absolutely adored her and treated her like she meant the world to them, but understood that not everyone had that same fortune. Borealis promised herself early on that she’d be kind to everyone she came across. Sundew and Lunares treasured this and were very proud of her, hoping that she’d be able to carry out that promise.
Despite being born without wings, Borealis held strong to the hope that she’d take after her Springsinger side and go through a metamorphosis to touch the sky for the first time.
