Summary
A Vaiki from Portland, ME, Toshi grew up never really knowing who she was. With reflective fur, eyes, claws, and skin, she found herself simply mirroring others, never really forming much of an identity of her own. She knows where she's from, her name, her age, birthday... basic facts. But with regards to her personality, she really couldn't describe herself. She knows she likes tea, and dislikes coffee. She likes cats, and is allergic to pollen. Enjoys music, and dislikes mirrors, because looking in them trips her out in endless reflections. But that's really all she can really identify about herself in terms of who she is as a person. She's spent so long simply copying others, she can't tell which parts of her are real and which are just mirroring other people.
Despite this, Toshi has found a place as the lead singer of a band, led by Michigan and Coraline, two Chicago-born Vaikis. Michigan found her singing along at a concert in Boston with a friend from school, and, impressed by her voice, requested she join their group. She accepted, and has been slowly carving out a life of her own with the group... even if having her ex join them was a little awkward at first.
Trivia
- The shiny blue sections of Toshi's body are reflective, like a mirror. This quality gave the band's first album, See Yourself In Me, its name.
- Toshi has formed a fairly close friendship with the rest of her bandmates, but arguably closest is Coraline, for whom she often brews tea to try and help her relax before shows.
- Toshi doesn't know how to drive, and tends to rely on either her bandmates, ride sharing, public transportation, or outright walking to get where she needs to go. She has something of a soft spot for traveling by train.
