ABOUT

Half of Amaranth is a heartless monster but her other half is a girl who is lonely and longs for a friend. She finds that friendship in Venom and the two formed a strong friendship, even while deceiving his friends to capture Robin. Those feeling even began to bloom romantically over the course of her little charade. She doesn't care about the lives of other people but when she gets close to someone she will risk her life for them. She still feels a sense of betrayal for the wrongs that were committed on her friend, but she always channels that through negative emotions. Unlike Briar, she refuses to let go of her past scars and chooses to let them define her.

BACKSTORY

Amaranth grew up in a village in the mountains. She made very little friends there but there was one person she cared about more than anyone in the world. They grew up together and did pretty much everything side by side. Her friend was forced to move away though, and ever since then Amaranth spent years searching for her childhood friend. During her travels she was taken in by a Saber village that worshipped a deity named i and raised her as one of their own. Seeing them as much needed friends she adopted their way of life and became their Dynasty Princess. Over time she began to accept the possibility that her friend was dead and ultimately decided to moved on with her life. But then one day, rumors of the presence of humans spread across Trithanas, and that there was only one left alive. This was an opportunity for her to honor her people and please i with a human sacrifice. Little did she know what awaited her up north.

FUN FACTS!

• She was meant to be the evil version of Briar.
• Her first name comes from a character from the original AU, and her last name comes from the Burnet Cave in New Mexico, USA, where the remains of the American Mountain Deer were discovered.
• While her romance with Venom remained the same, she was originally meant to be an ally until she ended up being fused with the original villain of The Dynasty Princess.
• Her fighting style was inspired by the film Aquaman where Arthur Curry defeats Orm in the final battle with a move he was taught in a flashback scene.
• Her backstory was inspired by Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx.
