PERSONALITY

Flickerpond is a shy, calm tom with a comforting gaze as well as a strong understanding of others' emotions. He prefers solving situations using words rather than claws, and will always make sure his clanmates have a shoulder to cry on. Although he dislikes giving physical contact towards those he doesn't particularly know as a form of support, he will listen to what the other wants to say. Flicker enjoys gifting his upset acquaintances common flowers, to show them that he is there for them (he is afraid of asking for a conversation with someone who isn't in a positive mood at that moment in time). He dislikes having numerous friends at once, for he feels that he won't be able to keep in contact with them all and therefore involuntarily push them away. Acquaintances are much preferred.
His large ears - from being an Oriental Shorthair - allow him to hear from long distances and he is certainly paranoid of his surroundings, jumping at a simple snap of a twig, yet this could be seen as a benefit to some. Flickerpond is quick to react, yet the thought of being in danger whenever there is an unusual sound taunts his mind into madness.
STORY
Past
Flickerpond spent most of his life with his sister (Cedarpaw) and his two fathers (Archrunner and Orchidnose). Archrunner and Orchidnose took him and Cedarpaw in as their own when their mother proved to be incapable of taking care of all her kits. The four Deerclan cats would spend every day together - whether that be going to the small pond, making flower crowns, touring camp or sleeping underneath the stars on bitter nights. However, this all changed when Archrunner and Orchidnose got into an argument regarding each other's parenting: Arch believed that Orchid was being too soft and lenient, whereas Orchid felt that Arch was too harsh and ignorant. Flickerpaw sat from a distance, clutching his younger sister. Whenever their parents argued, Flicker would hum a comforting tune. Everything changed when Archrunner and Orchidnose had their last argument - Orchidnose fled the situation, never returning, and Archrunner began to distant himself from his siblings. Cedarpaw's death managed to repair Arch and Flicker's bond slightly, yet Flickerpond has stopped seeing Archrunner as a father and prefers for them both to act as 'strangers'.

Present
Nowadays, Flickerpond has managed to recover from what happened in the past. However, the way he acts is still very nearly the same - even making flower crowns, but he is sensitive to shouting/heavy arguing. He has trouble making new friends and fears that, if he makes too many, he'll either lose track of them or unintentionally push them away due to lack of communication. He prefers to keep to himself, and can often be found in the early morning sunbathing.
DEMEANOUR
- Flickerpond is a graceful young tom - he walks with a light trot when in high spirits, and enjoys extending his legs more than usual when confident or trying to stretch. Although his head is usually low when sitting, he values formality.
- With a gaze as calm as grass under a warm morning breeze, Flicker definitely looks like a friendly cat! His facial expressions are often neutral, for he isn't one to express or exaggerate his emotions

"Gorserose seems like a genuinely kind clanmate! We have similar opinions about things, and a positive aura follows him everywhere. I always seem to be happier around him.. it's nice."
Flickerpond and Gorserose met as apprentices, but only briefly spoke. They were almost strangers: acknowledged each other's existence, but didn't particularly take part in those existences. The first time they talked in a while was in the Warriors' den, during the time when Toxicspirit and Firefall were arguing over an important flower - they decided to flee the conflict and talk outside.

I'm just worried that, anyday, Blazecloud could easily tear me to shreds if I did something wrong..After all, he does work for Lord Twistedfrost. I shouldn't get too close to him..."
Flickerpond and Blazecloud met just before the festival, after Twistedfrost's announcement. Blazecloud had asked the young warrior to teach him how to make flower dressings, and so the pair went to collect Hydrangea. Apart from their small, cut-off chat, they haven't spoken much since.
