Seraphine

Seraphine is the chosen name of a young harpy prince from a harpy kingdom located near the city-state Aefiran. His mother, Queen Ayo, is the latest of a long line of leaders who have stood strong against outsiders and protected their mountainous kingdom with tooth and claw. He is sheltered and sweet (as the kingdom is very matriarchal and harpy men are usually expected to be homemakers and stay out of battle and the hardships of life outside the kingdom’s walls), but he has always wanted to see the world. On his 21st birthday, Seraphine and his mother got into a heated argument about his unending curiosity about the world outside, which resulted in him sneaking out of the palace and running away. Since then, he has not returned, and he has no intentions to.

Seraphine chose his name to avoid being recognized as a prince, and he has done his best to alter his appearance as well. He has always been rather feminine, hence his more feminine choice of name.

Seraphine is not a mage, but he does believe in the gods as he was raised to do. He is not as devout as Kalliope, but he often joins her in prayer. Though he is naive and clumsy, inexperienced in combat, Seraphine is determined to prove himself any way he can, and he has asked the others to teach him how to fight. He can’t rely on them to protect him forever--he knows that very well.
