Fuyuto is a quiet man with a short temper, who dislikes having to interact with others much. he has a desire to protect those around him, but dislikes the idea of being attached to people who may be put in serious danger, so he keeps his distance and refrains from getting close to anyone- aside from his beloved little brother, Shizue.
he puts up a mean front, and is cold to anyone who wants to befriend him- pushing others away constantly. he is easily agitated by louder, more outgoing people and would prefer to just travel with his brother, or spend time alone. he can be mean, rude, and even sometimes cruel with his words and doesn't seem to think about the feelings of others.
...except when it comes to his little brother. the instant Shizue is upset, Fuyuto will do everything within his power to cheer him up, and loves him more than anything. he tends to agree to do whatever Shizue wants without too much thought, since he wants him to be happy.
history
Fuyuto was born into a loving family, who lived in the woods a bit away from the nearest villages. they knew the risks of demons prowling nearby, but were confident in the abilities of demon slayers who operated nearby to keep them safe.
since a young age, Fuyuto wished to be a demon slayer, so that he too could protect his family and other innocents like them. he began his training when he was pretty young, and wasn't the strongest but gave it his all. eventually, he'd leave for his final selection, which he only very narrowly passed.
upon arriving home, Fuyuto would discover his family dead, and his home wrecked after a demon lay waste to them. the only surviving member of his family aside from himself was his youngest brother, Shizue, who had been hidden, and left to starve for the time Fuyuto was gone.
to stop such a thing from happening to another family, Fuyuto continued on to acting as a demon slayer, bringing his brother along with him. he'd train Shizue to fight as they went, and Shizue would eventually undergo the final selection as well- managing to become a fully fledged member of the demon slayer corps, like his older brother. the two operate as a pair, and- though he is older- Fuyuto seems to be the one who lacks more in terms of skill. he wants to work hard to continue protecting his brother, and those around him.

- although he knows the importance of a good diet, he's really bad at sticking to them, and prefers to just indulge himself on sweet food.
