Character backstory: Kanti grew up expecting to have an amazing plant quirk like his pro-hero mother, Kamala. He waited for his quirk to appear impatiently, often trying weird things to 'activate' it or 'power it up'. Nothing worked, and eventually he realized his quirk was simply growing flowers all over himself. Beyond disappointed, Kanti never really got over feeling unable to live up to his mother's legacy, especially after she suddenly became ill and passed away when he was in early middle school. Despite his tremendous grief, Kanti was able to work hard enough to get into UA General Studies, still clinging to some sort of hope of becoming a hero like his mom. As a student, however, his volatile emotions often get the best of him, and he is seen as quite a delinquent character even though he is kind-hearted. He cuts class frequently, and has an intimidating/serious demeanor. He yells when he talks if he's embarrassed, which is pretty much all the time. Eventually, Kanti picks himself up (with the help of a great girlfriend) and focuses on studying to pursue becoming a botanist with a speciality in natural medecine. Kanti also has a living father, who has a very minor plant quirk of his own and owns Kobayashi Flowers, a small flower shop which Kanti often works at after school.
Quirk Details: Kanti exclusively grows flowers. ONLY flowering plants, and ONLY the flower part of those plants. He grows flowers all over his body as long as there is air exposure (so no flowers grow under his clothes, only on exposed skin and hair). All of his flowers sprout and grow to full bloom in a matter of seconds, and he grows different types/different amounts depending on his emotions. He does have some control over what grows, but it requires concentration. Since the flowers he grows are his own cells, he has extremely high cell growth rates/regeneration. This means he heals wounds abnormally quickly compared to a normal human, and he is practically always hungry. As he gets older, he learns to heal himself even quicker- healing a hefty paper cut in a matter of a minute or two. Kanti's blood, sweat, and spit can also grow flowers when exposed to air.
