"Apathy"/

"apathy" is a dead, purgatory inhabitant, of a female stature, and strong build.
Apathy was 17 upon death, and was indirectly responsible for the deaths of 3 people, and directly responsible for 1, after starting a fire to cover up evidence of her gang's activity, and pushing the brother of her later killer into the blaze, leaving him to burn to death.
prior to this event, Apathy was part of a family of 3, including herself, consisting of her mother and her sister. her father being dead from disease around when she was 7.  she was born into a post apocalyptic society and left her family circle at 15 to join a band of gang members who controlled the area where she was surviving. leaving her older sister and frail mother, she was driven largely by fear, as well as the promise of power and the hope of survival.
a year after the deaths that she caused, she had accompanied a senior gang member to a talk with a resistance leader, about where the borders of their territories would lie. unfortunately for her the man accompanying the resistance leader was the brother of the man she pushed into a fire, and as the situation quickly soured, he pulled a knife and slit her lip and neck open.

upon her death, instead of being cast out to oblivion, to be twisted and become a mindless creature. The council (a group of the elite of the dead, whom decided whether one would be allowed into the sanctuary, become an elite etc. or be banished) decided to sentence her to a purgatory sentence.

persons whom are sent to purgatory must ferry the souls of the troubled dead across the grey plains for as long as the council sees fit. Their appearances are twisted, often to match whatever sins they have committed in life, and their face is replaced with an object.

In "apathy"'s case, her limbs were blackened and calcified, and the scars on her face that she earned through her murder remained on her face.
(it should be also noted that she retained her clothing that she was wearing upon her death, and said clothing has grown with her.)

Apathy's memories of her past life were mostly removed, including her name, she started calling herself apathy when a soul whom she was escorting commented that she was rather apathetic, and she ended up latching onto the term.
