Conquest:
Yoshiko is seen again during Chapter 12 where she is brought along to help stop the Avatar. She is with Mariko when she attempts to help the Avatar, despite disagreeing with her sister, but quickly turns on her countrymen when they attack her sister. She is understanding of the Avatar's own desire to save her sister, and joins in defense of both ailing young women. She joins the avatar from then on at the behest of her sister, and begins to understand what she was fighting for.

She and her sister are sent to bring back the Avatar, Yoshiko being somewhat hesitant to battle the Avatar. After Mariko requests to join the Avatar after the sister's defeat, Yoshiko tags along for the sake of her sister.
