Despite his job, he's truly gentle and shy. But when needed, Ray can act tough. He's able to put on a mean face to get through his work. Sometimes he gets a thrill out of intimidating others, but harming, not so much. He takes great care of his appearance as he worries about being attractive at times. Also, he tends to act more feminine and hates when this is noticed. He's the type of guy to take on a dare. He's athletic and enjoys pushing himself in sports. He's decisive, but mostly impulsive, able to make decisions within moments; although, they aren't always the best ones. A few times he lets his targets free, usually after seeing them with family. He works hard and feels ashamed of himself if he ever takes a break for himself, or fails to do his job correctly.

However, he is incredibly confrontational; if someone has a different opinion than him he won't hesitate to try force them to change their mind. Ray finds it hard to trust others and is bitter to those he doesn't know well. He tries to distance himself from others but finds that he craves attention too much. Respect is something that he demands. As bitter as he seems, it's just an act that he wants to drop but is afraid of being judged or kicked out. He's rebellious to all but those who are above him. He has no interest in anyone other than himself and his partner, he seems to lack curiosity. He sticks to his rules and it's difficult to make him change his mind. He refuses to admit that he is greedy, always wanting far more than a fair share of payment and not wanting to share anything he has. Ray is impatient and will complain when anything is moving too slow for him.

Ray lives in the city, specifically in the upper floor of his hair salon. He enjoys his work but can't make enough money to get a house to himself. His salon also holds a secret stash of bootleg alcohol and stolen wares which are later sold to make profit for the gang he is part of.

First meeting through a clan-mafia alliance, Ray and Françis have worked together plenty of times. Ray became attached to Françis' more outgoing, charming personality and admired his skills, leading to making up their own jobs for the fun of it and eventually just hanging out. Soon after, they started a relationship together. Françis gives him a sense of security and peace, being the most accepting of him since the rejection in his childhood; but he also struggles with anxious thoughts of having his beloved Françis getting hurt, either from the law or a rival gang. He worries about what would happen to their relationship if their alliance ever fell apart. Sometimes he feels opposed to some of Françis' habits, such as betting, but respects them as his own interests and wishes are.

But after working for her over the years, they have become rather close and Ray sees her as a friend, not just his boss. He is loyal to her for giving him a sense of belonging when he was rejected and thankful for the mafia work giving him enough money to get by with, he's perhaps willing to do just about anything for her. Ray has sworn loyalty to her and the mafia for as long as he lives, even if they disband.

STORY

Ray grew up in a small family; just his brother and mother. His father left his mother when he was young, Ray doesn't remember him nor does he care. Nothing particularly eventful happened during his early years of life. He eventually figured out his sexuality. After multiple relationships and months of hiding it, he finally told his family that he was gay. His mother rejected him for a short while but came to terms with it, she wouldn't abandon him because of it. But due to her rejection, Ray became bitter and shameful of himself, soon leading to him running away from home.

However, being rather isolated his whole life, he didn't have anyone to turn to, nor did he have the means to earn money. Ray turned to a life of crime, stealing anything valuable he could get his hands on and selling it on the streets or to pawners to be able to buy food. At first he struggled, but over time he learned and became a fairly talented thief.

A stranger had been watching him for months and enjoyed his new found talent. Lucia offered to take him in, but only if he agreed to join her gang for life. In his desperation, Ray accepted with little hesitation. He found it difficult to fit in as he had been so used to working alone, where every other thief was a threat to him. At first, he could only take on small tasks or had to be accompanied by a higher ranking mobster to earn Lucia's trust. Eventually he became Lucia's right hand man and friend. With the money he earned, he opened up a small hair salon for both business and a place to stay. The salon quickly became a place to stash goods for the gang.
