samhain is... a pain. enjoys a sense of having the finer things in life, but has very odd tastes. prone to being judgemental, an eye for even the smallest details, and stubborn to boot. his compliments can come off as backhanded, and yet he doesn't seem to fully notice.
nosy, keen, with a sticky-sweet singsong voice that draws you in, you might be found wondering why you keep coming around...
his magic is stronger than he can fully control, and gives others an unshakable sense of calmness and ease, sometimes making people feel foggy-headed. for some it's just relaxing; for most, it's impossible to ignore. this feeling may impede others, around samhain, of their ability to fully process their emotions if they aren't used to his aura. although less common, his effect can unwittingly push his own feelings into another person in a flicker that is too short to make sense of. this aura began making a prominent appearance around being 40 or so (~13 for humans)
if he were able to properly master his magic, he would likely be able to heal minute wounds, and would assuredly be able to ease pain. somewhere down the line, he may just figure it out, slowly but surely.
in the past, samhain has been prone to toying with other people. his aura made him feel as though once the person came back, it would be alright. he knew this was wrong, and felt that if somebody cared enough they would stand up to him about it. some people did. his own sibling, JJ, for a long time needed to stay away for aerself and take time to figure out aer life and emotions after growing up thick as thieves. the two get on better now, but JJ having to step away so far and for so long shook samhain to see a reality he didn't wish to face. it's easier to ignore it than face it.
samhain and chessa previously dated, and the relationship came to a tumultuous head. at times, chessa is not so heavily impacted by samhain's magic; other times, chessa is overwhelmed by it. this became too much of a trouble for it to handle. they have since broken up, spent time talking primarily via calls and letter writing, and remain rather good friends.
