Galia

Description

Galia is a satin rabbit. She was a prominent DJ in the EDM scene on her world where she went by the stagename Gallium. She is a little short and of average build. Her fur is mostly white but covered in black splotches. These black marks are around her eyes, prominent on her legs, less prominent on her arms and back, and lightly scattered around the rest of her body. Galia's skin/flesh (nose, mouth, etc.) changes with the music she's imagining or listening to. She has several traits not typically associated with rabbits, like sharp teeth, strong claws, and ear fluff. Gallium was married to another bunny, and sometimes she thinks she still is.

Personality

Galia is often thought to be stuck up, headstrong, abrasive, and inconsiderate. She was considered a mystery throughout her music career, almost never doing interviews or giving the press any information outside of essentials. In truth she's always been very lonely, always anxious of meeting new people for fear that they would use her for her influence. She's the type that has a lot of trouble letting anyone near her, but if you can get through her tough shell she will be deeply loyal to you and shower you in love, praise, and attention. 

Story

Galia lives in a cyberpunk world dominated by corporations. From outside the world would look like a paradise, having advanced technology and efficient infrastructure and well kept grass and parks and mighty beautiful buildings. In truth this world was ruled by non-living institutions and algorithms created by the wealthy elite that even they had trouble controlling. The world was mostly divided into two groups, the wealthy and the underprivileged. The wealthy lived in well kept, walled suburbs outside the cities and at the tops of the towering skyscrapers inside, while the not so fortunate lived in slums at the bottom or, if lucky, in the suburbs as servants and maintenance workers to the rich. 

Galia was preyed on at a young age by her world's dominating media conglomerate, having found her musical skills promising. She was "recruited," essentially bought from her parents, and then trained to be a DJ. At first she loved doing it and was amazing at it, but as she grew older she realized how few freedoms she had and came to resent her situation and the parents that put her there. She took the first chance she could to take her fortune and run, becoming one of very few independent artists in her city's underground scene. She lived her life this way, basically in hiding and without friend or family but still wealthy and influential enough to live better than most, until she met her wife Verdana. 

Verdana was a black sheep in the underground scene, adoring Gallium's music and the party scene but still being a proper and "noble" person. Verdana immediately stood out to Galia when attending Galia's first show. For the first time in her life Galia felt compelled to reach out and meet this new person, automating one of her songs to play and approaching Verdana for a dance. The two stayed up all night partying and learning about eachother, until they retired and passed out at Galia's place. The two quickly began dating, and married soon after. For several years Galia finally felt happy living her life with her wife, until Verdana's health began to rapidly deteriorate. It was found Verdana had an incurable genetic illness, and she fell into a coma shortly after.

Galia did everything she could to save her wife, funneling all of her money and influence into a search for a cure and even rejoining the official music scene to draw up more funds. Nothing worked, and Galia turned to an experimental research firm that advertised a form of immortality for the ruling class. They promised to, through a tested and painless procedure, upload Verdana's mind into a powerful computer where she could survive as an AI. They lied, woke Verdana from her coma, and tortured her while Galia was forced to watch. Verdana was the first person uploaded like this, and immediately turned on her creators like GLaDOS, hacking into all of the facility's systems and killing everyone in it except Galia. Galia ran, ashamed and terrified, and Verdana felt betrayed. As Verdana's mind had decayed and corrupted from her disease and this entire process, she began hacking into all of their cyberpunk world's automated security systems, with intent to eradicate all sentient life and end the decaying and evil order of the old world.

Galia was the only person to survive, and now wanders the ruins of their world avoiding security drones and androids to survive. Verdana constructed a massive, monolithic structure in the middle of the plains of the largest continent to house her program and serve as a base of operations, while her constantly adapting and upgrading drones scowl the planet slowly digitizing and disintegrating any traces of civilization. Galia has adapted a number of cybernetic implants and organic mutations to help her survive, and fights back against the drone hordes by weaponizing her music. She hacked into a large number of drones, causing them to go rogue and periodically undo Verdana's work, resulting in the world becoming a constantly shifting and unstable landscape of buildings and constructs.

Galia lost all sense of time long ago and spends her days wandering the world looking for ways to fix it and looking for any other survivors, but any time she finds other signs of life Verdana has gotten to them before Galia could. Assuming they were real to begin with. Galia carries all her possessions on her back and in a cart she keeps with her, but these are almost exclusively survival tools and weapons. The one exception being her wife's wedding dress, and her stash of stimulants.
