Chelle started out as a bit of a short-tempered kebanzu who had little tolerance for needless chatter and would spend her days immersed in books alone. When she stumbled upon Virgil, lost and alone in the woods on the trip back from a grocery run, she prompted the young kebanzu about his chains and wounds only to discover that he was utterly alone and mute, unable to explain himself or what had happened. She begrudgingly took him back and assisted in nurturing him back to health while at the same time teaching him how to sign things over his head in symbols to communicate. Even when he had more than mastered this skill he was still a kebanzu of few words, but Chelle learned to understand him even without that. With someone to take care of, her temper waned and she grew a lot more gentle, finding her harshness before to startle Virgil. Today, Chelle has all but abandoned most of her old tendencies and her motherly nature has remained. She checks in on Virgil often and will still offer her home as a place for tired kebanzu to rest.
