Kickstart

Kickstart is an underground musician in Ponyville with humble beginnings. He grew up in Appleloosa as Trouble Shoes' younger step brother. They were brought up separately for the most part, visiting each other on occasion. Sadly, as they both grew older, their time together became less frequent. Kickstart took on side jobs at Appleloosa's rodeo arena, where Trouble Shoes was deemed a public menace due to the destructive nature of his innate clumsiness.

In his early days of getting into the gig scene, Kickstart became acquainted with Crimson Thunder. Crim is a vocalist in the heavy metal/post-hardcore genre who also makes his own music. While Kickstart's specialty lay more within the alternative genre, the pair bonded over their love of music with raw emotions and mutual appreciation of each other's performances, varying musical talents, and personalities.
