As a sick, homeless, unwanted young child on a colonized, advancing planet known as Theiss Tau, they were taken in by a kind scientist. Only the scientist turned out to not be so kind. Daios grew up believing they were helping their mentor, only to find out that he had been using them the whole time. Having been infused with the DNA of a deadly dimensional creature, Daios was dying.
Hurt but still manipulated, Daios continued to believe they were helping their mentor. Tragedy struck, however, when the dimensional entity broke free. Daios' mentor sought to offer Daios up to the creature as a sacrifice, but due to the shared DNA, the creature instead bonded with them...Then Daios turned on their mentor before fleeing home and subsequently fleeing the planet itself.

Personality
Hesitant
Wary and watchful, Daios doesn't like to rush into things. They try to think carefully before they speak and act. Their confidence was never very high to begin with, but since things turned sour for them their confidence has taken a hard hit.
Distrusting
Given their recent experiences they find it very hard to trust others - especially those in positions of power. Daios also has problems trusting themselves - they're still relatively new to life with the entity as well as life off of their home planet. Their biggest fear is giving into their feelings of anger and betrayal, making it hard for them to trust themself to even express things properly sometimes.
Altruistic
Daios values kindness a lot. Depending on the situation they're often willing to go out of their way to help others. Given their newfound powers, strength and lack of self confidence, despite not being the bravest, Daios will often put themselves in danger for the sake of innocents as they believe it's their duty to do so.
Gentle
When with others of a kind or gentle disposition, Daios is amicable and warm. They can be soft and more at ease when in a comfortable environment, or gentle and encouraging when helping those who are hurt or afraid.
Prickly
Despite their apparent demureness, Daios doesn't take criticism well when said criticism hits the nail on the head. Because they keep their feelings and thoughts wound tight, being seen through so easily may embarrass them, making them lash out or react quite brattily.
Insecure
They fear being known - be it by themselves or by others. Daios blames much of their life on themselves, often second guessing and wishing things had turned out different. They don't talk much about any of this, but their unease is clear in their demeanour - though they try to put on a stern face to dissuade others from poking too much into their life. Once again, this insecurity can lead to a grumpy Daios if the wrong buttons are pushed.
