Phoebe

Appearance
Phoebe is small as cheetahs go, barely above the low end of normal size and weight for her species. Always clean as a whistle and often damp, if not soaked, she's almost always looking her best with a slim build and a healthy appearance.

Details
She has two things cheetahs don't have naturally, being fully webbed toes on all four paws, and gills on both sides of her neck. Her gills are usually hidden beneath her fur, with the unsuspecting stranger none the wiser that they are there. When in use, they can be seen, and while not blatantly obvious, the keen looker will notice their shape in parting fur and may even see the deep red flesh within, as they open and shut during her underwater "breathing."

Since she spends long periods of time underwater, her skin is fairly soft and so are her pawpads. This makes them more sensitive than they would be otherwise, to the point where there are times when she even prefers not to walk around if the ground is too rough. This also makes her paws exceptionally ticklish when someone else touches them. She keeps her claws sharpened to a point for snagging fish, and since she doesn't walk on land very much, they rarely grow dull.

Habitat, Sustenance and Habits
Phoebe lives in a beautiful forest preserve, with vast expanses of federally protected land that's largely undisturbed even by visitors. She chose this forest because it is home to the clearest, cleanest lake she could find, which provides her with water she can spend long periods of time in without getting any buildup of slime or other junk in her fur. She survives almost exclusively on fish she catches during her lengthy underwater excursions, and will even sleep underwater where she can be even more undisturbed than in the peaceful forest above. She's got an anthro friend or a few, but if they come to visit her, they may have to wait awhile for her to surface, or attempt to get her attention somehow.

I would like to use Phoebe in roleplays and possibly get more art of her in the future. If you think she'd fit into something you've got in mind or if she just strikes your fancy, note me! I don't bite. (she might though...)
