Grathren has pale skin, with occasional slivers of fel visible, as though it's seeping out from under his skin. His tattoos are one of his most striking features, faintly glowing and plainly visible on his chest, shoulders, and back. The other most noticeable thing about him is that he has four horns atop his head; two sweep forward and outwards like a jagged half-crown, and two are short - sitting between the first two and pointing behind and above him. One of his lower canines juts out from his mouth, resembling the teeth of a wrathguard.
Hanging behind him is a thick, hairless tail, which often sways or stiffens according to his mood.
His muscles are quite visible thanks to his sparse amount of clothing, and though he is generally more toned than bulky, he does have considerably more mass than most elves.
His outfit incorporates some Illidari symbols, making him easy to identify as part of the group.
Besides his outward dedication to his cause, Grathren is usually stoically quiet and acts with a confidence that borders on arrogance. He can at times cross over into being outright miserable in his silence, as he has very few people he can trust to talk about what's on his mind.
Those who manage to get close to him describe him as a "well-meaning idiot", due to his almost total naïvety on topics other than fighting or jewelcrafting. He has a tendency to accidentally offend people in lengthy discussion, but he will profusely apologise when he realises he's caused upset.
He works as a jewelcrafter when he's not needed in battle, partly because that's what he's used to doing, and partly to just keep his mind occupied.
Raised as a jewelcrafter, his hometown was invaded by the Legion long ago, motivating him to join the Illidari. His surviving family disapproves of this decision and refuses to talk to him, even after years and years apart. Grathren wants to put his past behind him as much as possible, but finds that everything reminds him at least partly of his old life.
