This boy lived in a Norwegian village with his father. This village was once attacked by angry spirits. The boy's father and other villagers tried to protect themselves from them, but it was useless. The spirits did not spare anyone and burned out the entire village with black fire. The boy managed to escape, but when he returned to the burned village and saw the charred body of his father, he was swallowed by sadness and rage. He tried to pick up the surviving pieces of his father's armor, but the black flames burned him badly. However, the power that killed his father remained in the souls of people who died in the fire.
