Toby acts like he has absolutely 0 care in the world...and he probably does. He has goldfish memory and although curious about the small world he holds in his hands, he may forget after discovering pieces of it. Thus, he gets easily lost. However, Toby has amazing hearing so he usually follows sounds back to civilization. He also cannot talk properly - he can only sing softly his emotions (solemn songs when sad, cheerful songs when happy, etc).No one knows whether or not he can actually speak or if he just chooses not to, or if singing is the only way he communicates. He also communicates by playing charades and everyone finds him cute and adorable. He is like a lost dog -- everyone will feed, shelter and help him if he needs it without question but they will also leave him alone to go about his merry ways.
