Tabari means he remembers. Initially, the name was chosen because it sounded nice. The meaning behind it wasn't necessarily significant when it was picked to be his name. While both Elewisa and Hediye liked the name, they felt it would be odd to give him one where the meaning wouldn't relate unlike his siblings. So in sticking with the theme, they thought about how they could fit the meaning into his life or his character as he grew up. In the end it ended up being an honorary nod toward his great grandmother Nuru who is the pride's seer. She had been heavily involved in her family's lives and remembering how much he loved and appreciated all she did, Elewisa thought it would be appropriate for Tabari to be named after her- in a manner of speaking. While it isn't really a name to grow into, he does often think back on his family and where he came from.
