Fire is the first milestone of humankind, something that first separated them from mere animals and started the wheel of society and development. It was both a miracle and a disaster, for though it provided warmth and light, it can destroy whole forests and burn flesh with a single spark. It was wild, untamed, beyond mortal reach. It was the personality all, gods and humans alike, expected of its god.
But he didn't want to be like that. Aodhfin knew the power of flames and wanted to use them as a way to care for others, not as a means to destroy. After all, society first formed through gathering around a  bonfire, and was cooking not a result of fire, as well? But the world saw every act of his kindness to be a mockery, that he only gave because he wanted something in return. And seeing this utter rejection of all he offered, the god of fire retreated, deciding the world would be happier without his presence. Fire would remain, as always, but he would not.

On first meeting Aodhfin can be aloof and distant since it was what others expected of him, although he could open up just by being with someone else who isn't aggressive and pushy. He lacks confidence in who he should be, and what he should believe - is he a monster who fooled himself to believe he was kind; was he just rejecting the truth?
If he could though he would be extremely caring, and would strive to do anything for his friends as his way of showing love.

tl;dr - A quiet, distant fire god who's struggling with his identity and  just wants to be with someone who sees past his title and powers
