About

Dutiful • Laid-back • Arrogant • Patient

A long time ago, once a great warrior in the prime of his life, Anbaji sought to become immortal through any means necessary. He researched items, dragons, anything that could conceivably prevent him from dying. He didn't fear death, he simply didn't want to grow old and lose his luster as a warrior. He did succeed, but in so doing earned the ire of Death themselves. While Anbjai cannot die, Death turned him into a hound that hunts those that would attempt to cheat death as he did, or escaped the underworld. He is bound to this duty, and has long forgotten what he wanted to gain from immortal life to fulfill the purpose Death gave him. Perhaps he could remember who he was, with the right encouragement.

Anbaji mostly appears as a large male, but he can change into a large and sleek black hound, bearing the same horns and collar as his mortal form, and often takes it when he actively hunts down a target, haunting them for a time before he strikes.

Summary

Anbaji was once a great warrior who took pride in his skill with a sword. Still, as long as you weren't his enemy, he was mirthful, drank too much, and told exaggerated stories of his successes. He was, however, quick to anger and offense, and started (And ended) a good many fights that probably could have been avoided. He realized he was getting older and hated the idea of his good time coming to an end, so he began a quest for immortality. He kept the details of his research a secret to everyone, and once he succeeded and became immortal, Death themselves claimed his soul another way - by making him into a loyal warrior for his cause. Over time, Anbaji forgot who he used to be and how he came into eternal life, only knowing that he was a skilled fighter, a trait he carried over into his servitude.

Despite being the literal hound of Death's will, Anbaji retains much of his former personality. He still enjoys a good party, a stiff drink, and is quick to anger if slighted. Now, however, he does not tolerate the undead, spirits, or any living being that would ignore the call of the death, and will drop everything, anytime, to bring death to them instead. He moves from target to target, and on the rare occasion he doesn't have something to actively hunt, he may return to the underworld and patrol its depths for any possible escape attempts.

While Anbaji usually works alone, he doesn't deny someone who might want to come with him, whether they have a beef with the same target he has, or just out of morbid curosity. Still, he can quickly become annoyed or tired of their company, and will slip away and leave them behind (potentially somewhere incredibly dangerous) just as quickly as he let them come along.

Design

• His forearms are not cloth or jewelry - the skin itself is black and gold, like the coat of a sleek black dog.

• Never wears shoes.

Trivia

• Wears socks to bed. Always.
