Swivel (Sevilsoleia)

Sevilsoleia, Swivel for short, was the guardian deity of Sevilder, where  Timian and Florence are from. in this world, magic means trading a  sliver of your humanity for a sliver of godliness. those slivers of  humanity is what the gods use to create their bodies - at least the well  known members of the Iphimeric Pantheon gets to do that. small town  gods less so. they will usually live within a vessel, so they have a way  to interact with their people and wield their powers. 

Salvie Fable, timian’s sister, was one of those vessels. the last human  vessel, in fact. but during an attack on the town that caused Swivel to  wield too much of their powers at once, Salvie’s human body - nor the  town itself - could contain it. Timian was one of the very few survivors  of the whole incident, and carried the weak glow of Swivel’s  vessel-less essence with him to Iphimery. there, his uncle Florence  would create a mechanical vessel for Swivel to reside within. 

Salvie is dead, but Swivel has the memories of every vessel they ever  inhabited, so... well, family dinners with the remaining Fables are a  little uncomfortable, but they’re all trying. Swivel no longer has a  town to protect, but they carry with them the knowledge and traditions  that would otherwise go lost.

as her latest incarnation she often refers to herself as the Shieldmaiden. the chest plate can be removed to be used as a shield, but doing so exposes the core with the essence inside.
