Profile

Bishop Vellarne is an elezen scholar who is on a journey to locate his long lost friend.

Born into the Ishgardian slums from a Dravanian mother and a Elezen father, Bishop's lineage is viewed as rather unsavory. Although his draconic heritage is mostly kept hidden, the risk to his safety in the city he calls his homeland is all too great. Having never met his mother, he was raised by his father in the poorer area of the city, selling journals and tomes his father created through his hobby of book binding.

In his early adulthood, Bishop discovered through an unfortunate circumstance the repercussions of his heritage, attempting to save a Elezen man's Gil pouch from a common thief, his aether had reshaped him into a draconic-like being for all merchants in the crozier to witness. The thief trembled at the creature, dropping the pouch as he picked it up. Peasants and Civilians screamed in terror, shouting that a heretic had snuck into their city. If it be due to his determination, emotions or high stress of the situation, he fled on weakened wings to a secluded area of Coerthas, hiding in a quiet, cold cave.

It wasn't long before the Elezen man whom he had tried to recollect the gil for had spotted him after hours of searching, calming Bishop and assisting him in returning to his regular state. The man introduced himself, and thanked Bishop for his help. Exasperated, he insisted the man flee, lest he may do something unpredictable. The man reassured him there was nothing to fear, explaining that he too was of Dravanian blood, and did not fear his own kind.

The two grew to have a close bond, as Bishop learnt to trust him, and took up a Scholar job as they travelled Eorzea as a pair of adventurers. It wasn't long before a Garlean envoy began an assault on their place of residence, burning down the village they made camp at. Bishop hid away, as his friend insisted that he fight them off. In doing so, they had captured Bishops companion, taking him back to Garlemald to work until his final days.

Ever since, Bishop has been searching for his friend, knowing that he may still be alive, and may even be free from Garlemald itself. He has been travelling near and far to find him, and hopes to sense his aether once again, all the while meeting newfound companions and coming to terms with his newly discovered form.
